Choosing the Correct Gas Regulator
Regardless of whether you are looking for a Maxitrol, Norgas and Itron gas regulators, we have you covered.
Gas Regulator Applications
Within a natural gas system, pressure reducing regulators are used for distribution and transmission. This includes field regulators and farm taps that involve district stations and commercial, residential, industrial, and utilization services. It also involves pressure factor or fixed factor billing measurement. Pressure reducing regulators are used as monitors in district and city gate stations. They are also used to control gas pressure in industrial plants.
Below is some information on choosing the right gas regulator for your application.Single Stage and Dual Stage Regulators
Single stage regulators take a single step to reduce pressure in order to deliver that pressure inside of a specified range. These regulators indicate a small variation in the delivery pressure as the cylinder pressure drops during operation. As a result, these single stage regulators are ideal for applications where it is not critical to maintain a constant outlet pressure, where the inlet pressure does not fluctuate, and where an operator can observe and change the pressure as necessary.
Dual stage regulators operate in the same manner as single stage regulators. However, with double stage regulators, the delivery pressure remains uniform as the pressure in the cylinder drops. In addition, pressure control is more accurate and maintained due to the fact that the reduction pressure is carried out in two steps. These double stage regulators are ideal for applications that require unchanging outlet pressure during the course of the operational life of the gas cylinder.Materials of Construction
In the selection of gas regulators, the materials from which gas regulators are constructed should be evaluated based on the purity and properties of the gas to be used. We offer gas regulators with bodies manufactured from aluminum, epoxy coated aluminum, and cast iron.
